Mondays are officially the new Fridays. Whether you are a SAHM, WAHM, WOHM or any other four letter acronym, Mondays are the bomb.

Mondays are officially the new Fridays. Yep, you heard it here, mama.

Do you remember those days when you were young and had zero responsibility?

You would look forward to Friday and savour every minute of your precious weekends – staying out late, sleeping in, relaxing, eating, socialising. You were selfish because you could be. You didn’t need to worry about anyone but yourself.

Fast forward to mama-life.

“When Monday comes around, and everyone heads back to school/work/kindy, the house can be put back together and there is a moment to breathe.”

Yes we are still sassy, but with motherhood comes responsibility and tiny humans to love and look after.

We are now kissing scraped knees, wiping bottoms and soothing away nightmares about monsters. We are selfless women whose boobs are no longer where they once were and whose souls reside in the hearts of our children.

Our weekends now signify a house full of toys, a car full of sports equipment and a never-ending kiddie shipment between weekend activities and playdates. The weekends of today are filled with cleaning up, meal prep and motherhood. They can be busy and exhausting.

And so, when Monday comes around, and everyone heads back to school/work/kindy, the house can be put back together and there is a moment to breathe.

Whether you are a SAHM, WAHM, WOHM or any other four letter acronym, Mondays are wonderful and glorious.

If your kids are not at school yet and you are home with them, for you, the bliss may occur when you attend your 9am yoga class while your kids play in the creche or you sit in peace as your bambino enjoys a nap. But that moment is still there.

Yes, Mondays are truly a-m-a-z-i-n-g! Enjoy.
