As any breastfeeding mama knows – when your babe is hungry, they’re hungry. And whipping one out shouldn’t be a big deal, but unfortunately it is still stigmatised.

Breastfeeding on set is not uncommon. But because it is still taboo in the entertainment industry, Rachel’s decision to breastfeed on set [while also maintaining her role in the movie] sends a powerful message about the importance of supporting breastfeeding mamas in the workplace.

It is also a positive step in the right direction towards normalising breastfeeding in public.

And we just loveee her for it.

Rachel welcomed her second child, a daughter, just five months before filming started for Are You There God? It’s Me, Margaret. The film is an adaptation of the beloved novel by Judy Blume, which explores the themes of puberty, adolescence, and growing up. Rachel plays the role of Margaret’s mother, a character who is also navigating the ups and downs of motherhood.

The gorge mum-of-two is no stranger to making waves for her choices. Back in 2018, she was pictured pumping during a shoot for Girls Girls Girls magazine, when she was feeding her baby boy.

It just goes to show, no matter who you are, you are always going to face judgement as a mama. Even more reason to hold your head high. You are amazing.
