It’s not often we can relate to the likes of Kim Kardashian. But in a recent podcast, the mum-of-four talks about motherhood in a way that makes us realise she really is just one of us.

It turns out even the glitzy world of stardom doesn’t serve as an escape from the sleepless nights, tears, tantrums and #mumguilt that motherhood can bring.
“Mum guilt is probably the hardest thing. Am I good mum?” We get it Kim. And we’re right there with you. *hugz*
The ever-glam Kim Kardashian recently opened up about her motherhood journey, confessing, “There are nights I cry myself to sleep.”
In a heart-to-heart with Jay Shetty on his podcast On Purpose with Jay Shetty, our lady Kim laid bare the trials and triumphs she encounters as a mum to her four adorable munchkins – North, Chicago, Saint, and Psalm, who she co-parents with her former partner, Kanye West.
“Parenting is the thing that has taught me the most about myself.”
In the tell-all, Kim echoed a sentiment many of us know all too well. “Everyone says the days are long and the years are short,” a truth that resonates deeper than a meditation gong. Especially after the dust has settled following her split with West.
Mum life … Kim K style
Kim spilled some serious tea on the everyday chaos that is parenthood. “Especially when they’re babies and you’re feeding … there’s madness going on. It’s like full madness,” she laughs. “But it’s the best kind of chaos, though.”
And what’s a typical morning like in the Kardashian household? Kim sets the tone for her day with a workout, readying herself for the beautiful whirlwind that lies ahead.
“It’s like I always have to do one of my daughter’s hair. And it has to be perfect and it has to be a certain way. And then this one needs me to put his shoes on and they all need you. It’s like full crazy madness, cooking, running around. Like, it’s wild,” Kim tells us, painting a picture of a life that, despite the fame and fortune, is so very relatable.
Lately, our girl Kim has been zeroing in on discipline, finding herself as the “only one” holding down the fort.
“You know, with all the moods and the personalities and sometimes they’re fighting. And you know, there’s no one there,” she muses, perhaps hinting at the absence of Kanye. “Like, it’s [just] me to play good police officer and bad cop.”
Despite the challenges, the stress, and yes, even the tears, Kim remains staunch in her belief that it’s the “most rewarding job” in the world. She lovingly affirms that “parenting is the thing that has taught me the most about myself.”
She says, “It is the most rewarding job in the entire world,” hitting us right in the feels.
“There is nothing that can prepare you … I don’t care how long you wait. I don’t care what you’re waiting for. You are never prepared.
“But, you will figure it out. And it will make you so proud of yourself that you figured it out and that you got through the day.”
