Oh, girl, let’s talk about how to not lose your cool this festive season because, let’s face it, we’re usually the ones juggling a million things come Christmas time, right? But, hear me out, what if we just… didn’t? What if we took a leaf out of baby-daddy’s book and just chilled?

Because here’s the deal: you absolutely do not need to do it all. It’s time we reclaim a bit of that holiday magic for ourselves.

1. Delegate, Delegate, Delegate

If you’ve got the whole squad descending on your place for Christmas, don’t even think about shouldering all that stress solo. Spread the love! Get everyone to bring a dish – Nana’s famous trifle, Uncle Bob’s BBQ skills, you name it. And those kiddos? They’re never too young to start learning the art of table-setting. Every little bit helps and means you can actually take a breather.

2. Shortcut Your Way to Sanity

Seriously, nobody’s going to know (or, honestly, care) if that Christmas pud came from your oven or the local store. And let’s be real, those pre-made salads and desserts are pretty darn delicious. So, why not make life easier? Grab those, and you’ll be thanking yourself later when you’re not stuck in the kitchen all day.

3. Gift Wrapping? More Like Gift Bagging

Okay, who has the time to wrap presents that are basically impossible shapes? Grab some cute gift bags, pop the pressies in, and you’re done. Saves time, saves sanity, and hey, they’re reusable – how’s that for a win?

4. Housework? Nope

Your house doesn’t need to be sparkling like the star on top of the tree. Once the little ones are dreaming of sugarplums on Christmas Eve, just do a quick whip-around. Hide the chaos in a room no one will peek into, and then, my dear, it’s all about you. Feet up, relax, and soak in the peace and quiet.

5. Self-Care Isn’t Selfish

Even with all the delegating and corner-cutting, Christmas can still be a whirlwind. So, don’t forget to check in with numero uno – that’s you, lovely! When it all gets a bit much, retreat to a bubble bath with a glass of your favourite wine or get cosy in your comfiest PJs with a block of chocolate and your favourite show. The to-do list can wait. Your wellbeing? That’s top priority.

So there you have it. This Christmas, let’s vow to keep our cool and actually enjoy the festivities. After all, it’s about making memories, not ticking off a never-ending list of chores. Cheers to a laid-back, fun-filled holiday!
