Feel like a martyr? You’re not alone. Many of us struggle with resentment. But what if embracing that “icky” feeling could be the key to a happier, healthier you? Yup, you read that right.

Let’s start with attachment. We all crave connection, but motherhood can throw a curveball at our attachment styles. Remember those childhood insecurities? They resurface, magnified by sleepless nights and endless nappy changes. Suddenly, unmet expectations and unfulfilled needs can simmer into a nasty pot of resentment.

But here’s the deal – pushing away resentment won’t make it disappear. Instead, listen to its whispers. Is it about boundaries? Missing me-time? Feeling unheard by your partner? Identifying the root causes is key to healing.

So, how do we tackle this emotional monster? Here are some warrior mum tips.

“RESENTMENT IS A SIGNAL, NOT A SENTENCE. BY UNDERSTANDING ITS SOURCE AND TAKING ACTION, YOU CAN TRANSFORM IT INTO A FORCE FOR POSITIVE CHANGE.”

1. Be Kind to Yourself

Ditch the self-judgement. You’re not alone. Talking to a therapist or joining a support group can work wonders.

2. Set Boundaries

“No” is your superpower. Learn to say it kindly but firmly, for your sanity and everyone’s wellbeing.

3. Connect & Communicate

Talk to your partner. Open communication about expectations and needs can work magic.

4. Remember, You’re Human

It’s okay to feel angry, frustrated, or even sad. Suppressing emotions only makes things worse.

5. Embrace the Imperfect

Stop comparing yourself to the highlight reel online. Motherhood is messy, beautiful, and everything in between.
