Social media has become the modern mama’s village. It’s where we connect and share our reals with the other mums on Instagram.

My motherhood experience with my second babe was completely different to my first. Having a baby in the middle of a global pandemic will do that.
With my firstborn, I regularly saw friends. Our babies would play as we swapped birth stories, talked about how hard breastfeeding actually is, and try to figure out why our babies still weren’t sleeping through the night.
But with my second, I stayed at home all day, every day [paranoid my baby would get sick, but also because I was struggling to adjust to having two kids].
“Motherhood can often feel really isolating, but connecting with other mums on Instagram can make us feel less alone, and like we’re not the only ones feeling a certain way.”
I withdrew from a lot of people in my life, which meant the village I had the first time around, was gone.
Instead, I felt myself gravitating towards the mums I connected with on Insta – beautiful souls from all over the world. Because motherhood can often feel really isolating, but connecting with other mums on Instagram can make us feel less alone, and like we’re not the only ones feeling a certain way.
There are so many women out there, who are open and honest about their motherhood journey. And because of the time zones … when we are up in the middle of the night feeding, there are always other mamas there to chat to.
So here are some of our fav mums on Instagram who are keeping it real. We loveee them.
