In Boss Mama, Features, Stories, Watch, Read, Listen by Nicole Fuge

Whether you’re after a little encouragement to keep you on track to reach your goals, you need some inspiration to start that side hustle, or you’re simply after a dose of style to pep up each day, these working mamas are ones to watch.

1 // Taylor Sterling

Mama of two, Taylor – who is based in San Francisco – is the founder of the hugely popular Glitter Guide. For your daily dose of life with a touch of sparkle, Taylor is one to watch. Her Insta page is super pretty and very whimsical.

2 // Natalie Portman

Need we say more? It’s Natalie Portman. Her latest speech at last week’s Variety Power of Women Awards event in LA was pretty amazing.

3 // Miranda Kerr

After welcoming her second baby boy, Hart, in May this year, Miranda was soon after back out on the road doing her thing. As CEO of the beauty brand she founded, Kora Organics, Miranda’s passion for wellness shows that when you do something you truly believe in, amazing things can happen.

4 // Giovanna Fletcher

This mama wears many hats – mum of three, blogger, author, wife, vlogger and podcast host. Having recently given birth to her third and finding things tough at times, we admire Giovanna’s spirit, honesty and determination. Despite the challenges, she openly shares her experiences and always finds a way to soldier on through – and she admits it’s not always pretty.

I’ve not been feeling myself the last couple of weeks, which is pretty tough to admit. I’ve tried to say it out loud a couple of times and then totally dismissed it and brushed it under the carpet. I have found myself saying, ‘I’m not feeling myself, but it’s fine. I’m fine.’ Hmm… I’m fine but sometimes I don’t want to get out of bed in the morning. I don’t want to get dressed. I don’t want to see people. I don’t want to do anything. I’m fine but I’ve been crying for no reason and occasionally can’t seem to stop. I’m not feeling myself right now but I’ve just had a baby and my hormones are all over the shop and playing havoc with my emotions. I’m not feeling myself right now but I’ve just welcomed my third baby into the world and am so incredibly lucky. I’m not feeling myself right now but people are asking things of me and I don’t want to let them down. I want to deliver and be the productive, proactive and positive person I usually am. I’m not feeling myself right now BUT thankfully I have a great bunch of people around me who are giving me lots of support and making sure I’m kinder to myself. We must be kinder to ourselves! And we must talk. I wasn’t going to add to the amazing conversations happening around mental health today, but seeing as they’ve all helped me, I thought adding to it might just help some others. Be kinder and talk. ❤️ Xxx #maternalmentalhealth #worldmentalhealthday

5 // Alex Stedman

As a freelance fashion editor, Alex also runs her own website, The Frugality, where she talks about wearing her “clothes more than once” because she “spent all her money on a house” and admits she’s currently in a “baby bubble” having welcomed her daughter, Peggy, into the world earlier this year. We love following her journey and watching on to see how she’s redesigning life since her little one came into the world. It’s always interesting hearing how people make it work for them. Anything is possible, mamas!

6 // Louise Roe

A globetrotter living and working between the US and the UK (her home country), blogger Louise Roe is also a regular TV host. It’s not easy doing all of that with a baby in tow, but Louise makes it work.

7 // Three Birds Renovations

A total force to be reckoned with, everything these mamas touch turns to interiors gold. And how good, they are three besties – Erin, Bonnie and Lana – working together and hitting it out of the ballpark with everything they take on. It started with one idea between three friends and they have built what is now the hugely successful, Three Birds Renovations. “We wanted to spend more time with our families and when working, we wanted to do something we truly loved. Rather than work long hours to build someone else’s business, we wanted to work shorter hours to build our own. Add to that the fun of renovating a house with your two best mates and we were no longer building just a house and new business… we were building a life we loved.”
