When you catch yourself spiraling into a whirlpool of negativity, flip the script. Trade “I can’t do this” for “I’ve got this.” Swap “I don’t have time” with “I can make time.” It might seem small, but language is powerful, mama.

GRATITUDE IS YOUR NEW BEST FRIEND

Gratitude is a happiness magnet, and guess what, it’s free. Whether it’s the sunshine on your face, a warm cup of coffee, or your kiddo’s infectious laugh, there’s always something to be grateful for. Start a gratitude journal, or even share your daily gratitude with your family over dinner. It can truly transform your perspective.

DITCH PERFECTION

Perfection is overrated and honestly, darling, it’s a happiness thief. Embrace the beautiful, messy chaos that comes with being a mama. Every misstep, every ‘fail’, is just another step in your incredible journey. Remember, it’s not about having a perfect life; it’s about loving the life you have.

EMBRACE SELF-CARE

Mamas, we’re so good at looking after others that we often forget ourselves, don’t we? But here’s the truth bomb – you can’t pour from an empty cup. Prioritise self-care, be it a bubble bath, a yoga session, or just five minutes of peace with your fav book. When you’re kind to yourself, happiness follows.

FIND YOUR TRIBE

We’re social creatures. Surround yourself with positive, uplifting people who fill your cup rather than drain it. You know the ones – they’re your cheerleaders, your support network, your fellow warriors in this beautiful battlefield of motherhood. Remember, it’s okay to let go of relationships that don’t serve you anymore.

MINDFULNESS AND MEDITATION

Last but not least, mindfulness and meditation. By focusing on the present, you can shut the door on anxieties about the past and the future. Start with just a few minutes a day – there are plenty of amazing apps and resources out there to guide you.
