Before you totally give up on natural remedies for your little one’s skin, give Childs Farm a go…

If there’s anything us mamas live for, it’s a recommendation, right?

When my second-born three-year-old was a teeny bebe, he was one of those allergic kids. You name it – breast milk, formula, grass, pollen, dust – he had an allergy. And the result was an itchy, red eczema rash that covered him from top to toe. And while the mama-recommendations flew fierce and fast for all things nappy-, pram-, carseat- and cot-related, when I desperately sent up a panic flare about baby-friendly eczema creams, there was deafening silence.

And then my bestie came to visit from the UK. She brought all the necessities – Twiglets, Jaffa Cakes and Boots hand cream. But, like a trophy, she held something else up above her head. A pump-bottle of Childs Farm Baby Moisturiser. She took my confusion for encouragement and started her monologue. “It’s amazing, it’s all natural, and it’s so kind to skin!” she blurted. I raised an eyebrow. “TRY it,” she said as she pushed it into my hands. So I did.

After my little guy’s bath that night, I slathered him in the stuff. “Well, even if it doesn’t work, it smells nice,” I thought, noting the shea and cocoa butter on the ingredients list.

The next morning over breakfast, I noticed my small man wasn’t scratching at his eyebrows like he usually did. The eczema was still there, but it didn’t look as…angry.

I was determined to get my mitts on more. So each month, my BFF would put a few bottles in the post, and I’d tear it open and slather it all over my son the moment it arrived. It was a drawn-out way to keep his skin clear, but I was willing to do it forever if I needed to.

Except, now I don’t have to. With three in 10 babes in Australia suffering from atopic eczema, boss mama and founder of Childs Farm, Joanna Jensen, has made the bold move to launch the whole baby and kids skincare range right here, Down Under. Yayyyyyyya!

The Childs Farm Baby Range covers all skincare from newborns upwards

Here’s what you need to know:

I am passionate about this brand, and not just because I am a Londoner and it is from the UK (well, maybe a teeny tiny bit!)

Childs Farm products are put through extensive clinical tests and user trials to make sure everyone can use them – from newborns upwards, and those with sensitive skin – and is also safe and suitable for people who may be prone to eczema.

The range includes a baby range, a skincare range, hair care, a swim and travel range and washing and bathing products.

And every Childs Farm product uses naturally derived ingredients and essential oils to produce a range of mild, kind and delicious smelling toiletries (one of their bubble baths smells like bubble gum – my boys love it!) that cares for the hair and skin of newborns, babies and children.

AND it’s affordable. Hallelujah.

It’s available in Woolworths, Big W, amazon.com.au, as well as online on the Childs Farm website, and I, for one, am super excited. No more waiting by the postbox.

So, get your mitts on it …unless I’ve bought them all first!
