Mama Loves: The New Stokke Xplory 6 Pram

In Features, Reviews, Stories, Style, What's New by Nicole Fuge

Being hailed as the most revolutionary stroller in the multifunctional category, when we laid eyes on the new Stokke Xplory 6 pram it was, well, love at first sight. You know, the kind of love you feel for stylish and smart baby products that are designed with mamas in mind? Yeah that kind!

A tried-and-tested product by mums since its first release in 2003, the iconic pram is still as popular as ever and now has a few game-changing mama-approved updates that push its versatility, function and comfortability to new heights. Plus it is just still so cool to be seen with.

Suitable for bubbas from birth up to 15 kilos, the newly designed Stokke Xplory 6 includes an ultra-comfortable carry cot with superior ventilation, a generously padded seat with an extended canopy, and the piece de resistance – the adjustable height that means your mini-me can be closer to you.

And when it comes to the swivel wheel function, you can continue to effortlessly manoeuvre around tight corners and navigate your way dashing in and out of obstacles from the coffee shop to the crèche to make it in time for your yoga class… because we all know, mamas, that rushing around with ease is test #3 (after safety and comfortability for your little one, of course!).

Other notable features include the water-repellent and UPF 50 material that adds an extra layer of protection for precious passengers. The pram is also available in a wide variety of colours and accessories which you can personalise.

If you’re still thinking “Lions and tigers and bears… I have no idea what all of these features really mean,” let us delve deeper by having a closer look at three of our FAV features of the new Stokke Xplory 6.

1 // Height adjustable seat offers a feeling of security

The adjustable seat of the Stokke Xplory 6 means your baby can sit up high and face you, which is a particularly good feature for new mamas who will likely want to easily keep an eye on littles ones during those early months when everything is new.

And for later on when little ones grow more aware and curious about the world around them, the seat can easily be switched from a parent-facing position to a forward-facing position.

2 // Ultimate comfort and safety

Protective and practical, the new carry cot for newborns offers a super cosy place where they can rest and sleep while you’re out and about.

Stokke has replaced the textile carry handles with a new singular, carry handle covered with a durable leatherette. And something even more handy (pardon the pun), the handle also doubles as a seat rail.

3 // The physiotherapist-approved seat

A soft environment for your baby, the seat in the Stokke Xplory 6 offers sleep, rest, and active positions. Additionally, it is also depth adjustable for newborn comfort.

And if that’s not enough, the new and improved footrest has been developed in close collaboration with a physiotherapist to give babies optimal leg support. Say goodbye to dangling legs, no matter the size or age of your child.

To top it off, the seat unit includes an extended canopy with exceptional ventilation.

Stokke Xplory 6 with seat starts from RRP $1799. Stokke Xplory 6 carry cot is RRP $399. Colours available: red, black melange, black, deep blue, grey melange, and a special brushed grey (RRP $1899).
