Whether you pop in your AirPods to drown out overstimulating noise, have an hour of me-time, or are trying to stay awake while nursing in the wee hours, here are 3 of the best motherhood podcasts we’re listening to right now.

Podcasts have become my new fav thing.
I listen to them while pottering around the house like a little cleaning fairy. While waiting in the car for my Click and Collect order. And after offloading the kiddos at daycare [I can’t wait to switch off The Wiggles and tune into the next episode].
I am addicted. And it’s because I’ve found some really great podcasts encapsulating what it is I feel as a mum of two little kids. It reminds me I’m not the only one experiencing such things … overstimulation, mental load, anxiety, rage, anyone? These emotions are normal. And there are actions I can take at home, to help myself push through to feel more like me again.
So here are 3 of the best motherhood podcasts I’ve been listening to.
1. Momwell
Momwell [formerly Happy as a Mother] is an amazing podcast with psychotherapist and mum-of-three Erica Djossa, who unpacks the heavy topics of modern motherhood. We’re talking postnatal depression, mental clutter, postpartum sex … the list goes on.
With so many areas covered – from pregnancy through to postpartum – scroll through and save the episodes which relate to the season you are in. Enjoy mama.
2. I’m not your shrink
This podcast teaches life lessons, in all areas. And because Dr Tracy Dalgleish is a mama herself and the majority of her audience are mothers, I’m Not Your Shrink covers sooo many topics that are super relevant to mums.
Plus, because of her niche as a couples therapist, a lot of episodes actually focus on how to communicate with and educate your partner. Basically how to get them to better understand the struggles of the modern mother. Hallelujah!
One of my favs is ‘Why are Mothers Overstimulated?’ with Larissa Geleris [Season 4 Episode 2]. I actually sent it to my husband last week and said, ‘this explains me so well right now’.
3. Good Inside with Dr Becky
With a two-year-old and a four-year-old, emotions are flying high at our house [most of them from me, as an unregulated mum].
The Good Inside podcast is for the mama who is struggling right now. The woman who is trying to be the best mum she can be. Who feels like she’s falling short. Feels like she’s failing.
Dr Becky makes you feel less like a ‘momster’ and reminds you that you are “good inside”. Which is exactly what we all need to hear when we’re spiralling out of control.
The ‘Mom Rage’ episode with Anna Mathur literally had me in tears while I was doing my children’s laundry.
Sometimes, we just need to feel seen and have our feelings validated.
